UVAAI Holds Press Conference for Panaghugpong Run 2026

The University of the Visayas Alumni Association, Inc. (UVAAI) held a press conference for the upcoming Panaghugpong Run 2026 on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Doña Andrea Multimedia Center, highlighting the event’s mission to support scholars across UV campuses.
Excitement builds as alumni, scholars, and partners gather to celebrate a tradition that continues to unite the UV community through fitness, service, and shared purpose.
The Panaghugpong Run traces its roots to the University’s centennial celebration and has since been revived as a continuing initiative that expands assistance to more deserving scholars within the University of the Visayas. Through the years, the fun run has grown into a meaningful platform that combines health, community engagement, and educational support.
Panel members during the press conference included Dr. Cresencio Mejarito, Panaghugpong Run 2026 Chairman; Atty. Darling Chyrmyth Wagas-Estorgio of UVAAI; Dr. Ma. Crispy Velasco, UVAAI Deputy Treasurer; and Mr. John Velez, Panaghugpong Run 2026 Event Manager and representative of UV Communications and Marketing. The panel emphasized the run’s enduring legacy, strong alumni involvement, and increasing impact on student scholars.
Also present at the event were UV scholars, representatives from event sponsors, media partners, students, and invited runners. The press conference was likewise graced by UV Alumni Affairs Deputy Director Ms. J. Iway, representing Dr. Rosanna Gullas.
