UV Architecture Students Win Big at Art Tribute

On September 12, 2025, UV Architecture students earned top prizes in the GUHIT BAYANI art contest, showcasing their exceptional talent and inspiring fellow Visayanians to pursue excellence in the arts.
Creativity and school pride shone brightly as eight sophomore Architecture students from the University of the Visayas bagged multiple honors at “GUHIT BAYANI: An Art Tribute to Modern Heroes” in Cebu City.
The competition, held at a Cebu City art studio, gathered artists from all over the province across children, teen, and adult categories. John Gilbert Gonzalgo, who claimed second place in the adult category, shared that he did not expect to win but was grateful that his effort paid off.
Other UV awardees included Frans Nicko G. Ramo and Benjie Sulapas, who secured first prize in the adult category. Second-prize winners were Irylle Blanza, Stephanie Delfin, Mike Benjie Sorono, and Gonzalgo. In the teens category, Rick Rebesencio emerged as first-prize winner, while Aloha Rodriguez took second prize.
These victories highlight the impressive artistry and dedication of UV’s Architecture students, proving that their skills extend beyond drafting tables into creative expressions that honor modern-day heroes. The entire Visayanian community celebrates their success and looks forward to more artistic achievements from these young talents.
