UV Inks Partnership With Brgy. Day-as

THE University of the Visayas (UV) and Day-as inked the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to seal their partnership on November 28, 2024, at Barangay Day-as Gym.
This partnership was initiated as a part of the university's community extension program, in line with its mission to develop a community.
The event was officially opened by the Director of Community Extension, Dr. Jezreel M. Tanilon, who delivered his welcome remarks highlighting the purpose of the MOA signing ceremony.
Subsequently, University President, Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr., in his message shared his insights and aspirations for this collaboration.
"We consider this partnership as a very important function of the University of the Visayas because what we want to contribute is not only the development of our students, our employees but to develop a community," he shared.
“We can help extend the services provided by your Barangay in all places and all aspects, like livelihood, wellness, and other important points that can improve the quality of life,” he added.
On the other hand, Barangay Captain Hon. Freddie T. also shared a few words regarding the partnership where he emphasized his gratefulness for UV's year-long service to Barangay Day-as which is such a rare opportunity for growth should not be taken for granted. He also added that he was an alumnus of the University and is proof of UV's great service to its students.
Lastly, the closing remarks were given by VP for Administration, Mr. Ocaba.
In attendance were SK Chairman, Hon. Candice Mabitad, Barangay Councilor, Hon. Marilyn C. Pielago, Barangay Councilor, Hon. Carmencita F., Barangay Captain, Hon. Freddie T., UV President, Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr., Vice President for Administration, Mr. Elmer S. Ocaba, and Director Community Extension, Dr. Jezreel M. Tanilon.
