THE Department of Nursing held its 54th Capping, Badge Investiture, and Candle Lighting Ceremony among Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Level II students on October 11, 2024, at the University Gymnasium.
Led by College of Allied Health Sciences Dean Dr. Yvonne M. Sevilla, the ceremony successfully capped and badged 192 Level II BSN students, symbolizing the students' formal entry into clinical practice and marking their readiness to take on more responsibilities in a clinical setting.
In his speech, guest speaker and BSN Batch 2006 alumnus, Dr. Joel B. Serad, emphasized the edge of being a Visayanian nurse.
He shared that a "Visayanian nurse is like a bamboo, resilient in all adversities, always and forever will be the best nurse in a hospital or in [any other] institutions [they may be found].
A Holy Mass was celebrated before the start of the capping ceremony.
University President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo, Jr. and Executive Board Treasurer Dr. Leopold Gullas-Lucero graced the event along with the vice presidents, CAHS faculty members, parents, and guests.
