FOUR COLLEGES HOLD JOINT GRADUATION RITES

AT least four academic units in the Main Campus conducted their joint graduation ceremony for the 105th Commencement Exercises last July 29, 2024 in the University Gymnasium.
The University also distributed the official Transcript of Records (TOR) and Diploma during the graduation ceremony, making UV the first private higher education university in the country to do so.
The aim of the said initiative was to ensure that UV graduates can be gainfully employed right after graduation day.
The four colleges were the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture (CETA), and College of Education (COED).
The Doctor of Dental Medicine, Bachelor of Science (BS) in Pharmacy, and BS in Nursing programs under the CAHS produced the new graduates.
In the meantime, the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication, BA Political Science, BS Biology, and BS Psychology programs offered by CAS produced new graduates.
Additionally, CETA produced new graduates in the fields of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Technology.
The Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, and Bachelor of Physical Education programs at COED produced new graduates.
Among the graduates were The Visayanian Publication's Editor-In-Chief Dharyl Lorraine Echavez and Senior Layout Artist Daniel Louise Echavez.
Mr. Garry Lao, Lapu-Lapu City Tourism Office Officer-in-Charge and City of Lapu-Lapu Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (CLOSAP) head, served as the Commencement Speaker.
Mr. Lao, an alumnus of the Journalism program in UV, inspired the graduates and the Visayanian community to live up to the University's philosophy of "love and service to humanity."
In her Address of Thanks, BS Nursing Magna cum laude graduate Preince Patrince Paylado shared that "UV made me experience what it truly feels like to love, lead, and serve."
Lady Josefina Gullas Loyalty awardee and BS Nursing graduate Mary Ashley L. Cereño led the graduates' Pledge of Loyalty.
University President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr. conferred the diplomas and titles presented by the respective college deans.
In addition, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas delivered the pronouncement.
Meanwhile, Executive Board Treasurer Dr. Leopold Gullas-Lucero and Vice President for Administration Mr. Elmer Ocaba along with Dr. Iñigo and Dr. Cabuenas led the distribution of diplomas and TOR to the graduates.
Ms. Johannie Pintor-Estrera, a language instructor in the College of Arts and Sciences, served as the graduation rites' lady of ceremony.
