THE College of Allied Health and Sciences (CAHS) hosted its Pinning Ceremony for the graduating class from the Nursing and Pharmacy Departments on July 25, 2024, at Inday Teresing Auditorium, UV-Main Campus.
The ceremony began with a solemn eucharistic celebration followed by the processional march of the students.
Subsequently, CAHS Dean Ms. Yvonne M. Sevilla and Ms. Tricia Ivy R. Gullas presented and conferred the pins respectively symbolizing the students' readiness to join the healthcare profession.
In her speech, class Magna Cum Laude from Bachelor of Science in Nursing Ms. Preiane Patrince G. Paylado delivered an inspirational message, recounting her academic journey and the challenges she overcame.
“The challenges I faced only strengthened my soul and commitment, because, at the end of the day, I believe that if you do not sacrifice [for] what you love, what you love becomes the sacrifice,” she said.
Meanwhile, another BSN Magna Cum Laude Mr. Rogelio R. Plando Jr. became emotional upon delivering his message as he recalled the tribulations that he had encountered throughout his journey in the nursing program.
“I have to sacrifice my sleep and health to retain the scholarship; crying became a habit, [and the thought of losing my scholarship] became my greatest fear,” he said.
“Throughout this beautiful journey, we just have to believe in God, trust him, and call him as he will walk us through to what we deserve to achieve, and yes I made it; we all made it,” he added.
On the other hand, former editor-in-chief of The Visayanian Publication Ms. Dharyl Lorraine C. Echavez was recognized for her exemplary performance, alongside other distinguished achievers who have significantly contributed to the academic community.
In addition, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the parents and faculty acknowledging their crucial roles in the students' success.
Present were the program coordinators, clinical instructors, faculty, honorable guests, students, and the proud parents who came to show support in celebration of the pinning ceremony.
