UV organized large-scale TOEIC testing on November 26 in partnership with Princeton Assessments and Training Inc., administering paper-based and online exams to over 4,000 students from three campuses.
The University of the Visayas carried out a university-wide Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) examination across its Main, Toledo, and Dalaguete campuses as part of its ongoing effort to strengthen students’ competitiveness in global and professional environments.
The testing initiative covered more than 3,000 students from the Main Campus, 800-plus from Toledo, and over 200 from Dalaguete. This also marks the first major rollout of both paper-based and online TOEIC formats at UV Main, giving students wider access to internationally recognized English proficiency certification.
The TOEIC exam is widely used by employers and global institutions to assess communication skills and workplace English readiness, giving examinees an advantage when pursuing employment or participation in international programs.
UV’s implementation has also encouraged other Cebu schools to consider similar standardized assessments, contributing to the broader improvement of English competency in the region.
Padayon, Visayanians!
