UV-Pardo hosts Basic Education Commencement Exercises

THE University of the Visayas - Pardo Campus held successive events for the 9th Junior High School Moving Up Ceremony, 72nd Grade School, and 7th Senior High School Commencement Exercises sequentially on June 14, 2024 at UV - Main Campus Gymnasium.
The Grade - 10 Moving Up ceremony took place in the morning with a total of 63 completers who successfully finished their Junior High School quest.
Meanwhile, Grades 6 and 12 Commencement Exercises ensued thereafter which affirmed 24 Grade - 6 graduates and 142 Senior High School graduates across various academic tracks respectively.
The ceremonies honored outstanding students from each of the grade levels and were duly recognised during the event.
Moreover, other major special awards were also presented to deserving students namely: Don Vicente Gullas Leadership Award, Doña Josefina Gullas Loyalty Award, Athlete of the Year Award, Scout of the Year Award, Doña Modesta Singson Gaisano Scholarship Award, International Certification for AI and Robotics, and International Certification for Senior High School Immersion.
Spearheaded by the Basic Education Principal Mrs. Maria Theresa A. Gonzaga along with Senior High School Coordinator Mr. Jose M. Gaje Jr., Junior High School Coordinator Mr. Sean Joshuane G. Olaco, Elementary Coordinator Mrs. Lelia I. Combista along with the Basic Education Faculty and non - teaching personnels.
Present were the Executive Board Treasurer Dr. Leopold Gullas - Lucero, Vice - President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas, Vice - President for Administration Mr. Elmer S. Ocaba, Student Records Management Department Director Ms. Myra B. Osorio together with DepEd Region VII Regional Director Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez, and Poblacion Pardo Brgy. Captain Hon. Archt. Danilo C. Lim who both served as Guest Speakers.
The event was attended by the completers and the graduating class composed of students from Grade 6 - Environmentalism, Grade 10 - Environmentalism, Grade 10 - Respect, and Senior High School graduates from different academic tracks specifically Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMMS), Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), and General Academic Strand (GAS) accompanied by their parents.
