Gullas Law School Professor Earns Supreme Court Recognition for Groundbreaking AI Research

The Gullas Law School (GLS) of the University of the Visayas (UV) takes pride in the remarkable achievement of one of its professors, Atty. Kyle Joseph Alo, whose research on Artificial Intelligence has gained prestigious recognition from the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
Atty. Alo’s paper, titled “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence to Decide Cases: A Boon or Bane in the Disposition of Justice”, was selected from over a hundred entries nationwide for its insightful analysis of AI's potential impact on the justice system.
In his work, Atty. Alo explores the legal and ethical implications of using AI in judicial decision-making, assessing its potential to enhance the efficiency of case disposition while scrutinizing the challenges it may pose to fundamental rights and due process.
