UV President Dr. Iñigo Honored as Asia's Visionary Leader in Academic Affairs

University of the Visayas (UV) President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr. added feather in his cap after being honored as "Asia’s Visionary Leader in Academic Affairs" during the Asia’s Pinnacle Awards 2024 last Friday, November 15, at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila.
The prestigious award-giving body endeavors to publicly recognize and commend outstanding individuals and business entities for their significant impacts, achievements and contributions in the society. It spotlights their ability to lead and inspire others in their respective fields.
This year, the Pinnacle Awards takes a bow to those who have excelled in Business, Public Service and the Entertainment Industry all over Asia.
Dr. Iñigo was feted for his exceptional leadership, dedication to innovation, and inspiring others to achieve greatness.
The fifth president of the first university in Cebu, Dr. Iñigo has held leadership positions in various organizations.
The founding president of the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB), Dr. Iñigo was former chairman of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) and president of the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP).
He also once served as the chairman of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Committee for Business Administration, Office Administration and Entrepreneurship, charter president of Asia Productivity Organization Alumni Association, Inc. and vice president of ASEAN Tourism Research Association (ATRA) and Government Academe Industry Network, Inc.
A holder of two doctoral degrees, Dr. Iñigo has undergone post-doctoral studies in leadership and management in notable academic institutions in the United States. Fully supported by the UV Executive Board, Dr. Iñigo has truly made a great impact on the Visayanian community over the past four years. His noteworthy accomplishments includes the grant of ISO accreditation, Autonomous Status, Level IV accreditation of five programs, school with the highest number of accredited programs in Central Visayas by PACUCOA, technology-driven instruction, research and innovation, strategic linkages and partnerships, employability programs, and internationalization programs among others.
