UV and Taiwan’s Shu-Te University Forge Partnership to Strengthen IT Programs

The University of the Visayas and Shu-Te University of Taiwan formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance their Information Technology programs, promote curriculum and faculty development, and expand international academic collaboration.

To enhance international collaboration in the field of Information Technology, the University of the Visayas (UV) welcomed Dr. Shi-Huang Chen, Vice President and Dean of the College of Informatics of Shu-Te University, Taiwan. The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions.

The MOU outlines a mutual commitment to benchmark IT programs, improve curriculum development, foster faculty cooperation, and open opportunities for student exchanges.

UV President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr. led the signing ceremony, joined by Mr. Rogie Nichole Aquino, Director of the International Affairs Department; Mr. Alan Felicano, Program Coordinator of the College of Engineering Technology and Architecture (CETA); Dr. Marilyn S. Andales, Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Lapu-Lapu City; Dr. Ronald Y. Ferrer, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Lapu-Lapu City; and several faculty members from CETA.

After the signing, UV gave Dr. Chen a tour of its IT facilities and innovation hubs. The visit reinforced both institutions’ shared commitment to advancing IT education through global collaboration.
