THE University of the Visayas kicked off their 4-day Intramurals celebration with the theme: โTransformation through Innovation and Excellence in 5Sโ on April 24, 2024, at the UV Gymnasium, UV-Main Campus.
This yearโs Intramurals celebration was a major comeback after more than a year of manifesting.
The thrill was boosted with the Game of Thrones concept which was used to represent each college and the full blast implementation of 5S.
Students Afairs and Services Center Director Dr. Anna Kathrina Oaminal-Watin formally opened the program followed by an inspirational message delivered by the Vice-President for Administration Dr. Elmer Ocaba.
Subsequently, CESAFI Season โ23 Basketball MVP Mr. Kent Ivo Salarda executed the lighting of the Urn of Peace and Goodwill and the Oath of Sportsmanship led by the CBA Team Captain Mr. Glen Enriquez ensued thereafter.
Meanwhile, the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals candidates and the Cheer Dance competition participants were the highlight of the opening ceremony.
This event was spearheaded by the Supreme Students Council (SSC) and the UV - Cultural and Athletics Department (UV-CAD) with the support of the various departmentsโ student leaders.
Present were the Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas together with the deans, coordinators, faculty, and staffs across colleges.
On the other hand, the attendees were students from the Gullas Law School (GLS) House of Arryn, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) House of Mormont, College of Education (COED) House of Baelish, College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) House of Bolton, College of Maritime Education (COME) Nightโs Watch, College of Business Administration (CBA) House of Targaryen, College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA) House of Lannister, and College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) House of Stark.
The opening salvo concluded after the announcement of winners for the Mr. and Ms. UV Intramurals 2024.
Grabbing this yearโs pageant title was the College of Business Administration (CBA) followed by representatives from CAHS and CCJE as 1st runners - up, and contenders from CETA and CAS as 2nd runners - up respectively.
In addition, the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) was named the champion for the Cheer Dance competition followed by the CAS and COED departments as 2nd and 3rd placers sequentially.
