Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program aims to cultivate dedicated and well-rounded professionals in the field of psychology. The program is designed to equip graduates with the ability to integrate psychological theories into practical applications, apply critical thinking and inquiry methods through psychological assessment, foster self-reflection and independent learning, nurture harmonious interpersonal relationships in diverse settings, and instill a commitment to ethical standards in the psychology profession. With a focus on rigorous inquiry methods, our students are prepared to contribute to knowledge building through psychological assessment in clinical settings, organizational environments, educational institutions, and community initiatives.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of Bachelor of Science in Psychology are expected to:

  • PO1.  Demonstrate the capability to discuss and analyze the major theories and concepts in the different fields of Psychology. Utilize techniques/procedures relevant to laboratory or field work research settings;
  • PO2.  Demonstrate and apply psychological theories, concepts and methods in personal and professional settings;
  • PO3.  Demonstrate knowledge of the methods of psychological inquiry specifically in critically evaluating the appropriateness of different approaches to problem solving and decision making in the field of practice and self-management
  • PO4.  Develop an ability to conduct their own scholarly inquiries using quantitative and qualitative methods, guided by or through psychological theories and concepts;
  • PO5.  Demonstrate the professional and ethical conduct of research, psychological assessments, evaluation and psychological testing;
  • PO6.  Undertake further training for developing skills and acquiring higher level competencies either through formal graduate education, employment, research or trainings
  • PO7.  Engage in career advancements, trainings and capacity building that further develops their personal wellbeing, professionalism, competence, social relationships, and community service; and
  • PO8.  Embody the Values of Love, Leadership and Service to Humanity and being a catalyst for transformation and development.
