The University of the Visayas - Minglanilla Campus is a satellite school of the University of the Visayas, whose main campus is located on Colon Street, Cebu City. The university is owned by the Gullas family and has a rich history of serving the educational needs of the community in Minglanilla, Cebu.
Location
The Minglanilla Campus is situated in Ward 1, Poblacion, Minglanilla, Cebu, a strategic location near the town's key establishments. It is:
- - Approximately 100 meters from the Municipal Hall.
- - About 75 meters from the public market.
- - Just 85 meters south of the Roman Catholic Church.
- - Close to the District Hospital, which is around 100 meters to the north.
The school enjoys a safe environment, with the police station adjacent to the municipal hall. Surrounded primarily by upper-middle-class residences, it is easily accessible via various modes of transportation, including motor cabs, tricycles, multicabs, and jeepneys operating until late in the evening.
The campus spans 6,842 square meters, with an additional 80-square-meter right of way. It features:
- - Two two-story buildings with 14 classrooms at the front and 12 classrooms at the rear.
- - An annex building with five classrooms.
- - A front two-story building housing:
- High School and College Libraries.
- Three computer laboratories.
- Faculty Room.
- Principal's Office.
- Treasurer’s, Registrar’s, and Guidance Counselor’s Offices with a dedicated counseling room.
- - Two canteens located on either side of the campus.
The University of the Visayas - Minglanilla Campus has a rich history of over 50 years, beginning as Minglanilla Private High School in Ward 4, Poblacion, Minglanilla, originally housed in a rented property owned by a prominent local family. In 1952, the school moved to its current location and underwent several name changes over the years, including Minglanilla Gullas High School and, in 2000, UV Inc. Gullas High School - Minglanilla Cebu Branch, before adopting its present name, University of the Visayas - Minglanilla Campus.

UV Minglanilla celebrates transformative milestones, from academic achievements to impactful community initiatives, inspiring growth and excellence in education.
2016-2019
Dr. Erma L. Quinones served as principal. Enrollment figures stabilized, with the addition of senior high school students in 2016. By 2018, the school had 153 elementary students, 734 junior high school students, 337 senior high school students, and 484 college students.
2015-2016
Enrollment was at 1,241, including 362 elementary students, 868 college students, and others across different levels. Staff included 38 teachers, 21 working students, and various support personnel.
2013-2014
Another three-story building with 10 classrooms was built for the college department.
2011-2013
A three-story building with 10 classrooms for the elementary department was constructed.
2007-2009
Mrs. Proserfina L. Fajutrao became principal. Enrollment declined slightly but remained above 1,500.
2005-2007
Mrs. Enna L. Quinones and Dr. Eugenia P. De Lara led the school. Enrollment included college students, peaking at 241 in the first semester of 2010-2011.
2001-2002
Mrs. Fe B. Bilar served as principal. There were 2,337 students, 35 teachers, and additional non-teaching personnel.
1998-2000
Enrollment peaked at 2,533 students.
1994-1995
Computer facilities were installed, and offices, libraries, and laboratories were renovated.
1992
Mrs. Erma L. Quinones became principal. Enrollment was over 2,000 students.
1987-1990
Enrollment remained steady, with over 2,200 students annually
1986
Construction of a two-story back building with 11 classrooms began and was utilized in 1990.
1978-1981
Enrollment climbed to over 2,000 students, with 25 teachers.
1975-1978
Enrollment reached 1,423 students. A stage in front of the building was constructed.
1973-1974
A one-story building with five classrooms and a basketball court was constructed. The front two-story building was also built.
1968-1972
Enrollment grew from 937 to 1,017 students. Atty. Reynoso Belamino served as principal with 20 teachers.
1967-1968
Mr. Dalmacio Cuizon became principal. Enrollment rose to 771 students.
1965-1966
Mr. Arturo Cuizon served as principal. Enrollment reached 652 students, and additional wooden classrooms were constructed.
1963-1965
Mr. Alejandro Ravago became principal. Enrollment grew steadily to 622 students.
1953-1959
Enrollment fluctuated, ranging from 144 to 273 students.
1952-1953
Enrollment increased to 207 students.
1951-1952
Mr. Bernardo Angolo served as principal with 4 teachers and 124 students. The school moved to its present location, with classrooms made of wood. During this time, Mr. Bartiana also served briefly as principal.
1950
The school was founded with the help of Mr. Antonio Canedo, the first principal.
