Program Description
This program is a research-oriented program that has been redesigned to meet a broad range of needs either in administrative or teaching position in a changing school environment. The program is structured to provide students with an opportunity to update and upgrade their competencies, skills and knowledge in physical education. It also nurtures and prepares students for a professional career in the field of physical education and sports. Moreover, the program fully prepares the graduate students with research-based principles and appropriate strategies as bases in conceptualizing a responsive program delivery of physical education.
Program Policies
Qualification for Admission
This program is open to graduates of bachelor’s degree in elementary or secondary education or its equivalent. Students entering from fields other than education must have completed a minimum of 18 units of undergraduate professional education.
Reminders
- An INC grade will be given to students who failed to comply with the final requirements of the course;
- INC grade should be complied within one year, otherwise a grade of 5.0 will automatically be reflected on the report card;
- The maximum units to be enrolled for each trimester should be strictly observed;
- A comprehensive examination will be given after the completion of all Level 1 courses;
- The Thesis writing course can only be taken after passing the comprehensive examination;
- A schedule for Proposal Hearing and Final Oral Defense will be posted. Application must be made within the approved schedule only;
Compre Exam / Terminal Paper
After completing the academic requirements of 36 units, the doctorand can apply for the Comprehensive Examination which will cover the basic courses, major courses, and cognate courses.
Requirments for Graduation
Six (6) Hardbound copies and a soft copy of publicly defended practice-based dissertation.
