Program Description
The program is an advanced degree program designed to broaden and update the professional background and administrative skills of school administrators and would-be school administrators within the context of a socially transforming educational system. Emphasis is on the development of competencies in the key areas of educational leadership and management responsibility. Also, the program capacitates experienced education professionals, leaders, and managers to become effective and innovative leaders in the field of education.
Program Policies
Qualification for Admission
The student should have completed a master’s program in Education. Those entering from fields other than education are required to take a minimum of twelve units of undergraduate or graduate professional education subjects in addition to other degree requirements. Likewise, the applicant should have at least five years of professional work-experience related to the degree being applied for.
Reminders
- An INC grade will be given to students who failed to comply with the final requirements of the course;
- INC grade should be complied within one year, otherwise a grade of 5.0 will automatically be reflected on the report card;
- The maximum units to be enrolled for each trimester should be strictly observed;
- A comprehensive examination will be given after the completion of all Level 1 courses;
- The Thesis writing course can only be taken after passing the comprehensive examination;
- A schedule for Proposal Hearing and Final Oral Defense will be posted. Application must be made within the approved schedule only;
Compre Exam / Terminal Paper
After completing the academic requirements of 36 units, the doctorand can apply for the Comprehensive Examination which will cover the basic courses, major courses, and cognate courses.
Requirments for Graduation
Six (6) Hardbound copies and a soft copy of publicly defended practice-based dissertation.
