Communication as a field of study covers the various ways by which humans communicate. It focuses on how verbal and non-verbal messages are used to create meanings in different contexts using diverse platforms. It includes a broad range subject matter ranging from the study of communication in interpersonal relationships, groups, organizations, and cultures.

Graduates of Bachelor of Arts in Communication major in Convergent Media are expected to:

• PO1.  Engage in critical and innovative thinking and apply appropriate communication skills in in different formats and platforms (print, broadcast and online);
• PO2.  Demonstrate knowledge in applying different theories in oral, written, and visual communication;
• PO3.  Acquire knowledge of the principles of communication and learn how to evaluate, analyze and assess the appropriate application of communication theories in development work;
• PO4.  Communicate ethically by demonstrating appropriate and professional ethical standards in the fields of social sciences and communication; and
• PO5.  Apply appropriate approaches and methods in conducting social research and evaluation.
