COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND LINKAGES

The University of the Visayas is an educational institution located at Cebu City, Philippines. It was the first school in the province of Cebu to gain university status.

Barangay Kamagayan had been identified as the community considered deprived, depressed, and undeserved recipient of its community extension services of the University.

Thirteen colleges and seven non-teaching departments of the university will undertake projects after the philosophy H.E.A.R.T. –:

Reduce sexually transmitted infections by 30%. Reduce malnutrition by 50%.

Brgy.Kamagayan in Cebu City is an adopted baranggay of the University of the Visayas.

Kamagayan, formerly known as Poblacion, is a barangay in Cebu. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 2,170. This represented 0.24% of the total population of Cebu City.

SASC Initiated the plan and collaboratively worked out with the non-teaching departments.

Forty seven mothers and close to a hundred children attended the event and were able to have

gifts, flowers, and a short program.

“AGAK NAGA”

A good number of faculty members, students, and non-teaching personnel from the main campus together with the satellite schools visited, contributed items, and offered activities to children of the landslide victims from September 26-29, 2018. Being a hauler and sorter were the assigned task to the volunteers.
