The certification makes UV Maritime College the first Maritime School in Cebu and in the Philippines to receive a classification endorsed competence management system.

DNV SeaSkill provides Certification of Learning Programmes to training providers as the basis for developing training courses and programmes.

It ensures that the courses or programmes offered are properly designed, contain clear objectives for results, are carried out by qualified trainers and are assessed and improved in line with the industry demands and experience.

The certification also ensures that the required equipment and facilities for the training courses or programmes meet the requirement stipulated in an agreed industry demands standard i.e, DNV, IMO etc.

The certification process goes beyond validating the course curriculum and schedules. It also verifies the qualification and competence of trainers and the examination process.

The DNV certification process gives University of the Visayas a comprehensive 360 degree advantage making sure that students who enroll for these intensive courses get their money’s worth and more importantly gives them a career edge in field of specification.
