V.I.P Gullas Conservatory of Music
As the old saying goes… “Music conquers the conquerors of the world!” and in the little world of Cebu, music has conquered the heart of Dr. Jose “Dodong” Gullas. Yes, it takes a Dodong Gullas to fulfill a dream of having a Conservatory of Music in UV. So, without a shadow of a doubt, V.I.P (Vicente-Inday Pining) Gullas Conservatory of Music was born. For many, it was an ambitious project, knowing it would entail a huge expense to put up.
But our very own Chairman and Executive Vice President of UV, Dr. Jose “Dodong” Gullas’ love and passion for music has prevailed upon him to go on, and what he long desired deep down in his heart was realized.
Thus, on Sunday, April 27, 2014, the blessing and launching of the V.I.P Gullas Conservatory of Music was held at the UV Banilad Campus. The faculties of the conservatory are people with high expertise with their respective field. The leading faculties in the academic field are the following persons namely: Prof. Ben Brillantes, the chairman of the Conservatory of Music; Prof. Jiovanni Tabada, Artist-in-Residence; and Prof. Keith Segura, Voice and Chorus teacher.
We believed that all learners, at all levels of development, should have access to a balanced, comprehensive and progressive curriculum of music education facilitated by effective music educators.
The V.I.P. Gullas Conservatory of Music envisions a society where all children have access to the unique social, emotional, intellectual benefits achieved through musical excellence. We believe music is transformative and empowers the lives of youth, families and communities should foster independent and creative musicians, equipped for life long engagement with music
